I will be late this morning due to a circumstance so bizarre I was almost compelled to make up a more believable one. Our door doesn't work. We have one of those school-style hydraulic doors on our apartment and, as of this morning, is suddenly refuses to open. I kid you not, you are welcome to come here and try it! I would force it open but I think I would have to knock the entire door down, possibly damaging the wall around it. Anyway, we are waiting for the landlord to pry us out. He should be here shortly, so I shouldn't be more than 1 - 1 1/2 hours late.

If a higher up asks were I am please make up a more believable story.
